He usually cleans himself up for important events or at his daughter’s request. He can be a loner, and often will go off to be on his own or do his own things. More introverted than extroverted. Deep down though, Casey is a rather sensitive and thoughtful guy. Casey can be pragmatic, and is quick to react in crisis, and often tries to set aside feelings for logic in order to always remain present in the situation. In addition, Casey is fiercely loyal to those he loves and cares for, and will always go out of his way to help or assist them. They make up of little houses and trailers scattered throughout forestry lands in the shade of the mountainous region that spreads into four other states. Born second, after his after his brother, the Caufield children grew up a life with a needy mother and an absentee father. Thumper Caufield was usually out cooking in Meth labs or pissing off some of the higher ups (drug bosses) in the area, which either way, is a dangerous game to play. With their father gone all the time, their mother turned into a needy woman starving for attention, smothering her children with her hysterics and being kind to them in one instant, and freaking out on them in the next. This lead to the children becoming more independent and eventually, go looking out for their own troubles just to escape their mother, but in the end, they always ended up coming back, or at least Casey did. It taught him how to survive, as well as the people around him. His uncle in particular was where he learned how hunt animals out in the wild, skin, and cook. With his friends though, he picked up the nasty habit of drinking a little too often. His siblings would have their own shenanigans that they would get into. Later down the road, their father died from a meth mishap. The lab exploded while Thumper had been cooking, or so that was according to all of his dad’s friends but Casey wasn’t sure if he entirely believed them. So he went around, poking his nose into business that was not meant to be his and asking people things that shouldn’t have been asked. So the people in question retaliated. Casey got his ass handed to him that night, and he took it as a sign of being weak, but not only that, but also that he needed to get out of there for good. So come the age of eighteen, he went over to the high school where he heard there was an U.S. Army Recruiter and never looked back. Basic training was grueling, but Casey managed to survive, push on, and then excel. He did not have any desires to return to his home, which was his main drive. After graduating basic, and being shipped off to Texas, the army soon became his way of life. While there, he butted heads with an Officer, Morgan Drake. The higher ranking officers always said she was going somewhere. Top of her class, expert driver, great leadership qualities, she had the power to go places. Casey didn’t see what the big deal was, she was difficult to get along with and they found themselves always butting heads with each other. Disagreeing, tactics, everything. Eventually, the Army separated them from their squad, and each went their separate ways. Casey to the rangers and Morgan to supply runners. Years later, they would run into each other again. The army could be a small world sometimes. Apparently, not having to work with each other turned out to suit them better for each other’s personalities. Respect came first, then developed by friendship and complicated by romantic feelings. Despite this though, Casey knew he wanted to be with Morgan for the rest of his life and finally proposed, to which she accepted. Picture perfect wedding to follow, and then each got their deployments, thankfully this time at the same overseas base. On one mission, something went wrong, and while Casey and most of his unit managed to get out. Battered and banged up, Casey decided to honorable discharge. He went civilian and began to work mechanics on army vehicles. It would also give him more time to spend with Morgan. In addition, they decided to focus on building a family when Morgan was state side. And so they did. First a son, and then a daughter, the picturesque life continued. As Morgan’s deployments started to ware on their family, she decided that her next deployment would be her last, and then she would go civilian like Casey did. This way, they would always remain together and while her children loved her dearly, they were questioning why she was always gone. Sadly, her deployment did end up being her last, but Morgan came home in a casket. Killed in action, doing her duty to get her supply of HUMVEES to those who needed them. Casey was distraught, and he had a hard time coping, only barely managing to keep it together for the kids. But he couldn’t stay where they were, too many memories of Morgan and he couldn’t deal with it. In fact, Casey really couldn’t deal with living in the United States. Their nomadic status thanks to the military, left him with too many thoughts and everywhere he traveled, there seemed to be a reminder of his wife. So Casey uprooted his whole family and went to a place that neither he nor Morgan had ever been to, but she had always wanted to go, the United Kingdom. After searching for something less hetic than London, Casey settled his family just outside of Hickstead. It was enough of a town where schools and university mattered, but small and quiet enough to not drive Casey crazy. He quickly found work at a mechanic shop, and continued to raise his kids as a single dad.
